How to Search For People on Facebook by Network The internet has a number of different online communities and networks and sometimes within these communities or networks there are even smaller ones depending on common interests or characteristics that people have. Read about some of the ways that you can search for these groups and find them. One of the most popular social networks is Facebook and within Facebook there are a number of smaller networks, groups or communities. If you want to know how to search for people on Facebook by network, then some answers are provided here. To be able to search for networks and groups you need to have an existing account yourself. There are a number of applications that Facebook has that make navigating around the network and searches easier. One of these applications is the advanced searches option. Once you access this option you have the option of searching for people based on a number of different things. You can search for people based on location, schools, profession and a whole lot of other possible options. That is one way of how to search for people on Facebook by network. I found that this individual showed this amazingly on this Zelma Haven web page. If you know the name of the network that you are looking for just type it in and search. The search will return all the results that are relevant to the network that you typed in. If you are unsure of the full name of the network you can just type in portion if the network and it will still be able to pick it up. Besides the advanced search application there is also another application that is designed to look up networks specifically. You can go to 'facebook.networks/networks.php' and try and search for the network you want from here. You can also enter the entire name of the network or part of the name and the search will still be able to find it. That is another way of how to search for people on Facebook by network. | | Friday, June 24th, 2011 | | 11:07 pm |
Where to Find Free Printable Family Tree Templates I've been climbing my family tree for many years, and I have to tell you that it used to be much harder than it is today - - thanks in part to the many free family tree templates available on the Internet. Once you start entering names in each generation you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much easier it is to keep track of everyone. I found that this weblog demonstrated this intelligently on this Stasia Jeffryes web site. Since climbing your family tree (called genealogy) is about connecting one generation to the previous generation (i.e. you to your parents, your parents to their parents) it's critical to make sure each person is entered on the correct branch of the tree. Although you may think keeping track of everyone is easy, consider this: The number of your direct ancestors doubles with each generation (2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great-grandparents). And this doesn't even include aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters. By the time you go back 10 generations you have over 1,000 direct ancestors. Keeping all those people straight without having them on a chart or tree template is almost impossible. There are two basic types of charts that you'll want to download. The first is a pedigree chart. A pedigree chart tracks your family back generation by generation, starting with you. The second is a family group sheet. This chart contains information about a single family unit (husband, wife, kids). The pedigree chart is like a wide-angle lens - it gives you the whole picture; a family group sheet is like a zoom lens because it zooms in on one small bit of the tree. If you own genealogy software you probably already have access to free family tree templates. But if you don't have software you can easily find templates by using your favorite search engine and looking for search phrases such as "family tree templates", "family tree forms", "pedigree chart", or "family group sheet". Or, you can download these two forms plus lots more for free over at the website for Family Tree Magazine or Family Tree Templates. Once you really get into climbing the family tree you'll probably want to download even more templates for things like - a research log (keeps track of websites you searched)
- a correspondence log (keeps track of who you e-mailed for information)
- cemetery form (write down tombstone inscriptions)
- scrapbook forms (to make family tree scrapbook pages)
- circular, bow tie, and hourglass forms (pedigree charts)
One of the best things about getting started in genealogy is having a high level of excitement and anticipation about who and what you'll find. Use templates to record your finds and you'll be on your way to climbing higher and higher up the family tree. | | 4:56 pm |
Things To Consider Prior To Palm Tree Removal Nobody likes to cut a full grown and magnificent palm, but it becomes inevitable on certain occasions. Typically, overgrown trees may impede the appearance of your lawn, while on other occasions it may intervene with the utility lines. Oftentimes, the unchecked growth of trees may set threat to the structure if its roots sink deep in the foundation. Palms are often removed from landscapes for a number of reasons. Nevertheless, before you decide to get rid of that palm on your property, you need to take into account various factors that will probably affect your decision. Is There Really a Requirement for Palm Tree Removal? This is the initial issue that you ought to address. If palm care is not possible as it is diseased or is posing a threat to your building, then it is ideal to have it removed. Palm whose branches are interfering with electricity lines may also cause damage to your property. Yet, if you are getting rid of it only for ornamental purposes, then think before you act. You can trim it so as to present a more defined look. If it is really urgent to get rid of it, then seek the services of a professional palm tree removal service rather than trying to do handle the job on your own. I found that this individual described this smartly on this Fausto Weser web page. Palm Tree Removal but Not Relocation:Are you looking to remove your palm tree or you relocate it to some other spot? If you just want to get rid of it, the best option would be to cut the tree down and grind the stump out. Palm Tree Removal and Relocation:Many gardeners invariably look out for exotic and uncommon palm tree types, mostly Canary Palms. Therefore, owners with marketable trees may choose to trade their palm to such professionals. Yet, see to it that your palm indeed belongs to such an unusual palm species. Professional tree removal services make the task of tree removal, quick and non-messy. By employing professional palm tree removal services you can reduce the civil issues that may come up if anything goes wrong while removing the tree. You also don't have to worry about possible damage to buildings, miscellaneous structures or individuals.Cost of repair would be much more than you would otherwise be paying for professional tree removal services. Just imagine, you can avoid all this hassle by making sure that the company you hire has a trained and experienced team of workers. | | Monday, June 6th, 2011 | | 6:07 pm |
National Parks In France France is a country that many people dream of visiting and that includes myself. With its beautiful language, delicious food and luscious landscaping, France allows both locals and visitors to enjoy the surroundings, as well as learning and experiencing it's unique culture. One of the greatest things about France is the idea of being able to leave home and take a trip to one of its great national parks to hide away from the real world. France has 7 major national parks, each with their own uniqueness and attraction for you to consider visiting. Below is an outline of the most popular 3. The Mercantour National Park (Parc National du Mercantour) covers an area of 685 km square, including 7 valleys and 28 villages. Parc National du Mercantour is located at the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes. The Park is the ideal place for relaxation and is famous for the over 2000 different species of flowers and plants which inhabit it. I found that this page demonstrated this smartly on this Tory Mozdzierz post. The Pyrenees National Park in France is located within the Hautes-Pyrenees and Pyrenees-Atlatiques in the south west region of France. Also Known in french as Parc National des Pyrenees, the park, although not the largest (450 km square) is one of the most popular parks in France consisting of many high mountains making it famous for Sightseeing, skiing, hiking and mountain climbing. For those who are more interested in animals and wildlife, Parc National des Pyrenees provides a home to over 70 diverse species. The Cevennes National Park, known as Parc national du Cevennes, is located in the south of France, within the regions of Gard and Lozere. It spreads over an area of 913 kilometer square national parkland consists of several mountains as well as plateaus, the highest peak being that of Mount Lozere which is lovely for those that like to explore the wilderness. In addition to the great scenery, if you decide to visit Parc national du Cevennes you will discover some small villages, namely, La-Garde-Guerin, which stands as a fortified village and Le Pont-de-Montvert, a quite and small, yet very attractive village. The park is also popular for its exotic trees and bushwalking paths around the areas of the Arboretum de Cazebonne. The beauty of France does not stop there, In addition to the above popular national parks, France itself, consists of as many as 50 regional and smaller national parks, each with their own quality, attractions, beauty and life. | | 5:46 pm |
Holidaying in France France is definitely one of the most romantic countries in Europe: tranquil gardens and quiet landscape interspersed with vineyards and hamlets. The ornate architecture has been a particular specialty from centuries past, and today, France is still one of the most frequented countries throughout the world. Looking at Bordeaux it is easy to understand the stories of chivalry and elegant lore. Wines produced in this region, scattered with 18th century buildings, are said to be some of the finest in the world, grapes ripened on a land with a great deal to 'tell the world'. Whilst holidaying in France it is easy to see the influence of the Scandinavians, the Romans occupation and the British castles throughout the time, as the French loved their way of life, developing a people and a nation who loved their culture. The well known Notre Dame Cathedrale in Paris was built during the 12th century and through the turmoil of change, the Louvre was first used as a castle. These 18th century buildings often receive many tourists, and display the change in French culture over the centuries. Regardless of who was ruling the country the French remained uniquely patriotic pulling other nations to their energy century after century, and still, to this day. I found that this blogger explained this well on this Randy Gorri page. The city of Bordeaux is most gracious with both vineyards and historical value. The Cathedrale St. Andre is located in Bordeaux, this historical cathedral has a wall built in 1096. There are other historical churches located close by. The Quartier Saint Eloi holds the Great Bell of the City. There are quaint places to stay, and travel is convenient. Another site of outstanding beauty in Bordeaux is Pont de Pierre, a lovely bridge that was built by Napoleon. Visiting some of the country's museums are an absolute delight, and Mont St Michel, is quite spectacular. Hotels and cafes are in abundance and will easily take care of the desire for a delicious meal and a comfortable hotel in the French tradition. France is well known around the world for her cuisine, the city of Bordeaux is no exception, an active nightlife and artistic events are always on hand. Driving to this city of France is a pleasure and to fly is not seriously expensive. Trains are very frquent in France and a great way to get to Bordeaux quickly and efficiently. The trip to Bordeaux is about three hours and leave on a schedule of every two hours from Paris. No voyage can be taken to France without giving special attention to the food. France has such a variety of cheeses, breads and pastries of all kinds. The food menus can be compared to, fine paintings executed by the finest artist in the world, except that they are edible. Whilst in Bordeaux participation in a wine and cheese tasting is a must. Visiting some of the area's wonderful Chateaux and some of the finest wineries in the vicinity. The hotel concierge can be a most useful help to find local tours or go online. T he whole experience of travelling through France can be very pleasurable. Revel in the late spring before the weather is too hot or in October when the Autumn arrives, tourists will be less and visiting sites at your own pace, will give you the time to reflect on the sheer beauty of this wonderful country and enjoy the many pleasures that France has to share. | | Friday, May 27th, 2011 | | 8:57 pm |
The Roman Catholic Celebration of Mardi Gras Mardi Gras is a Roman Catholic ritual dating back as far as 5,000 years. It is a celebration of indulgence of food and drink that takes place generally immediately before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the fast of Lent. The first American Mardi Gras was celebrated near modern day New Orleans on March 3, 1699. I wasn't until the 1800's that these celebrations involved parades and things of that nature that we recognize today. Did you know that this special celebration also has its own designated colors? That's right. These colors are purple, green, and gold. Purple represents justice, green is for faith, and gold symbolizes power. So if you decide to dress up for this occasion these three colors are the perfect choice. A great outfit may include a Jester's hat, a masquerade mask, and don't forget to wear a huge variety of beads around your neck. The more the merrier! I found that this weblog showed this intelligently on this Fausto Weser page. If you can't make the trip to New Orleans to celebrate this year, why not throw your own party? Hang some green, purple, and gold balloons around your home, maybe include some crepe streamer to match. Then be sure to have plenty of beads on hand for every guest to enjoy. Beads are available at almost any party store. It is also a good idea to have some masks. You can be creative and make your own or buy some along with your beads. Don't forget the King Cake. This is a Mardi Gras tradition that represents the three wise men that sought baby Jesus shortly after his birth. Hide a baby figurine in the cake and let the person that finds it carry on the tradition next year! You may also want to make a few dishes such as jambalaya or creole rice, and other cajun dishes you enjoy. Lastly, be safe and have fun! | | Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 | | 2:15 am |
The Money Tree Plant According to the legend of the money tree plant, a poor, hard working old farmer one day came across an unusual plant in the fields. Since he'd never seen anything like it before, he decided to dig it up. The little tree was difficult to uproot, but he managed to bring it home. At home, he found that the tree was resilient and grew without much care. He decided to take a lesson from the plant, and decided to be stubborn, resilient, and not to give up on the things he worked for. Soon, he became a great entrepreneur. The Real Story of the Money Tree Plant The real story behind the braided money tree is not quite as romantic, but no less fascinating. The story goes back to the 1980's. During a typhoon, a truck driver in Taiwan was unable to drive his truck. So, he stayed home and helped his wife braid hair in her beauty salon. The thought struck him--why not braid a few money tree plants together? He took five plants and made a shape out of them. They were an instant hit, immensely popular throughout Asia. Today, the braided money tree plant has become one of the world's most popular houseplants. Pachira aquatica or money tree Pachira aquatica or money tree refers to the tropical wetland tree, which is a native to Central and South America and it grows in swamps in these places. The popular names of this plant are provision tree, Guiana chestnut, Malabar chestnut as well as Saba nut. The other day I found this site explained this simply on this mens health workout routine article. This plant can reach up to a height of 18 m (59.1 ft) in the wild areas. It is comprised of palmate leaves, which are shiny green as well as lanceolate leaflets and green bark. Its flowers tends to be very showy and includes long and narrow petals which while opening resembles a banana peel to make a display of hairlike yellowish orange stamens. The cultivation of Money tree is done for getting edible nuts that can be grown in big and woody pod. The nuts are generally light brown in color as accompanied with white stripes. Their tastes are like that of peanuts and are possible to consume in raw or cooked form. It can also be grounded for the formation of bread. It is possible to eat its leaves and flowers also. It grows nicely in the form of a tropical ornamental in areas that are moist as well as free of frost. Money tree has greater durability and is able to adapt in an excellent manner in all the various conditions. It requires large amount of sunlight but exposure to direct sunlight is harmful for it in the summer months because the leaves tends to get sun burnt. "Money tree" term for this plant is used mostly in East Asia. It is used in the form of ornaments in Japan. This plant is a symbol of good fortune and in the field of finance is seen most commonly in business houses with red ribbons or other kinds of ornamentation. Feng Shui The plant has significance to followers of feng shui. Its five leaves symbolize the five elements of feng shui: wood, water, earth, fire, and metal. Some say that if the plant is placed near places where money is kept (or where wealth is needed), prosperity and wealth will follow. The plant is referred to in Asian cultures as "Bringer of Good Fortune", particularly when given as a gift. A new proverb even arose to describe the intertwining trees: "The five fortunes come home, richer at each juncture." | | Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 | | 6:44 pm |
Arezki El Bachir - Robinhood Kabylie Algeria - 1850's Arezki Bachir was born 'about 1857' in the village of Ait-Bouhouni in Kabylie Algeria (Azazga). He was the son of El Bashir and Ali and Ali Nait Tassadit Tadjibat, and belonged to the tribe of Ait-Ghobri. In 1857 Kabylie fell after resisting the advance of French troops. We now know of course, that it was not the end of the fighting. Lalla N'soumer Fadhma had bravely led the Kabylie people, but after the battle of Icherriden, she and her volunteer fighters were defeated. I found that this blogger described this really well on this Margie Amesbury weblog The defeat was harsh, and tool a very heavy toll on the Kablie people. Not only did the villages have make contribution and pay millions for the war, the villages lost their autonomy and administrative law. The Assemblies of villages (Djemaa), that were previously the "wise" elected council, became a tool of the French administrators, with their leaders ("kingpins" and "amines") being appointed by the colonial authority. At the same time in Kabylia, the colonial authority began the operation of concession, exploitation and appropriation of village land to newly arrived settlers from Europe. Obviously, the allocation of land was not made until the colonial authority had confiscated it from the rightful owners. All this was done under the guise of colonial laws that was custom-made to dispossess the villagers of their property, their land and their herds. The villagers had no rights. The Yakouren uprising In the region of Azazga and Yakouren, where Arezki The Bashir lived, forests of cork oak attracted resource development companies. Arezki was only 14 when the uprising of 1871, led by El-Mokrani, had inflamed the entire eastern Algeria. He helplessly witnessed the harsh colonial repression on the population. The French government had by then created the law of "collective responsibility" for the actions of those the government called "criminals". From this came the cruel and unjust weapon of 'collective punishment'. Arezki Bachir decided from that moment to do everything he could to restore justice and protect the honor of his people. A few years later, when he was the foreman in the forest Yakouren a trigger point for the rebellion was created. He formed a small group of his most loyal companions to support the rights of the loggers who were being exploited. This small resistance soon grew into a into a rebellion against the confiscation of village land and against the excessive taxes being imposed. His group were involved in the assassination of French colonial official whether civil or military, Muslims or Christians. In the revolutionary's eyes, these people were traitors and criminals. His actions were politically motivated, but the French administration classified it as pure banditry. This quickly earned him a sentence of 20 years hard labor by the Assize Court of Algiers. (in absentia, of course). See, the Forest of Yakouren was one place where the French forces had not managed to capture. What made it even more difficult for the colonial administration was that his resistance group was growing. He now commanded about 300 men, all carefully sorted and selected by him. He wanted fighters convinced of the cause and not just bandits or simple thugs. It appears that he even had contact with Sheikh Bouamama, who, between 1881 and 1883, had led the insurgency in southern Oran. In the early 1890's, Arezki Bachir's new insurrection in Kabylia was firmly established. Meanwhile, the colonial administration was very concern about him. Arezki Bashir had become the "Avenger" whom the villagers of the region would ask for help. He, became the dispenser of justice in the region and in many people's eyes, had replaced the colonial authority. I found that this webpage described this nicely on this Ulysses Tamburrino web post The Governor General of Algiers in 1893 decided to send in a military expedition against the Arezki Bashir and his men. After being on the hunt for a month and a half with huge resources and reinforcements, Arezki The Bashir, tired and hungry was finally captured by the colonial administrators. His men dispersed with some dying in battle with others also being captured. The news of the arrest of Bashir Arezki became a sensation in Algiers. Arezki Bachir had successfully been the Kabylie "Avenger" for almost 15 years and had threatened the colonial authority. It was time now for the colonial authority to exhibit her trophy. Arezki el Bachir's execution and legacy Arezki Bachir was held in the prisons of Tizi-Ouzou and Barbarossa (currently Serkadji) for about a year. In that time he was visited by many European journalists and the merely curious who wanted to understand his personality and his motivations. All were very impressed by his character, finding him to be a person who commanded respect, and not the bandit that the colonial administration declared him to be. But his trial and that of his men held in January 1895, was the end for the Arezki Bashir and 9 of his followers who were sentenced to death. The others from the his group were convicted and sent to prison in New Caledonia. Arezki Bachir was guillotined on the 14 May 1895 at Azazga and was buried in a mass grave in Tizi-Bouch?ne. | | Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 | | 8:31 pm |
Choosing Appropriate Children's Party Games The difference between having an amazing party for kids and a boring party for kids can all come down to which children's party games are played. Luckily for the children out there, there are a plethora of games that adults can have them play throughout the get-together. Keep in mind when choosing which activities to play, that there needs to be the appropriate amount of space and equipment for each game to be fully enjoyed. Let's take a look at which types of games would be enjoyable for those smaller children, which are both simple and fun. Especially in a birthday party type of setting, games like catch the balloons and tag would be the easiest to play. However, more adventurous activities like duck, duck, goose and red light, green light would get those tykes out and active. I found that this site demonstrated this amazingly on this Normand Luckman web site As the little kids begin to grow up, the games could increase in difficulty and plenty of fun would still be had by all those involved. A variation on the game tag, called war, is something that a lot of pre-teen folks would enjoy playing at a festive event. Also, if a proper ball is available, games like dodge ball would give them all something to do to get the juices flowing. The challenge truly occurs for finding good children's party games if the event takes place during a time of terrible weather, in which everybody is forced indoors. The most obvious choice for game time indoors is video games, which are made for kids of all ages and skill levels. However, if there is a deck of playing cards around, games like war, go fish and other card games can pass the time. A pretty safe assumption for most events is that there will be a good mixture of children of all different ages, from toddlers to teenagers. Planning which types of games can be played with everybody together will obviously be the most challenging of any other scenario. In these types of situations, activities like the egg toss, basketball, football, dodge ball and even foot races would be entertaining. No matter what kind of children's party games are played, there are definitely a few simple rules to keep in mind when planning everything out. The first bit of knowledge to keep in mind when picking out games to play is to remember who the games are for. Activities that are too challenging can turn people off to the fun. Also remember that where the party is taking place could easily determine what restrictions or extra options people have for everybody's enjoyment. When it is all said and done, if all the children who leave the party do so with smiles on their faces, consider it a job well done. | | Monday, May 16th, 2011 | | 4:30 pm |

And you DON'T have to torture yourself by starving, doing brutal workouts, or taking potentially dangerous supplements. Asian women have mastered the art of losing weight quickly, even just after having a baby, and today we're going to go over a few tips you can use to lose 5 pounds in a week without stress or suffering! Lose 5 Pounds In A Week - The Skinny Asian WayWhenever clients in my weight-loss classes ask me how to lose 5 pounds in a week, or an even shorter amount of time, I respond with techniques that I know they'll be able to follow without too much trouble. It's not going to do them any good to get diet or health advice that's so far out of the ordinary that they can't possibly adjust and stick to it. That's why the basics are always something you should make a priority in your daily routine, to ensure that you're giving yourself the best chance at true weight loss: Drop The Energy Drinks, Starbucks Double Lattes, and Supersized SodasIn recent years it's been amazing to watch how calorie-dense some of our favorite drinks have become. Half of the menu at Starbucks for example exceeds 400 calories (in ONE drink) and the average McDonald's large soda cup has 300 calories just waiting to stick to your thighs! How can we lose 5 pounds in a week when we're throwing 2,500 to 3,500 EXTRA calories every seven days at our bodies to handle? The answer of course is to not play the game. Instead of drinking a high-calorie morning coffee/milk/cream/chocolate nuclear fat bomb, try to make the switch to either green or oolong tea or black coffee at home. Green and Oolong tea have been proven to assist fat-burning thanks to powerful anti-oxidants, and Asian women have been using it to lose 5 pounds in a week for generations. If the taste bores you, no problem, add some natural plant-based Stevia sweetener to it, and suddenly you've got a no-calorie fun drink that actually wakes your brain up while trimming your tummy! Aim for at least 2 small cups of tea per day to accelerate fat loss fully. White Bread, Pasta, And Sugary Sweets Have Got To GoThere's something in our blood that's killing thousands of people around the world each year, and it's expected to triple the rate of premature fatalities in the next 30 years...and its name is Insulin. I found that this website demonstrated this simply on this Collen Chiles weblog We produce insulin to try and balance out the impact of sugar spikes within our bodies, but the problem is that we're consuming so many food products not only loaded with sugar (sweets, sodas) but food that can also be CONVERTED into sugar by our system (carbohydrates like bread, rice, pasta), that our insulin levels are out of control. To lose 5 pounds in a week and also extend your life in a healthy way, do what Asian women do and cut back on the white carbs. Try to avoid breads, pastas, white rice, bagels, and other dangerous foods that science has proven WILL cause tremendous fat gain while slowly killing you. Instead focus on high-fibrous vegetables, which not only lower insulin levels but actually fool the body into using existing fat deposits as energy...making you feel great and letting you lose weight at the same time! What If You Just Can't Lose Weight? To get the body of your dreams isn't hard once you have the right information. One of the most powerful secret free methods that Asian women do to force fat off of their belly and thighs in less than a month can be done WITHOUT starving or doing crazy workouts... | | Thursday, May 5th, 2011 | | 3:59 pm |
Freddy Krueger Most of you have heard of Freddy Krueger the horrific fictional character that was from "A Nightmare on Elm Street". This film which came out in 1984 managed to soar in the box offices due to the disfigured stalker who used a razor gloved arm to kill his victims. The best part about this killer is that he kills his victims in their deal which finally result in their death in the real world as well. This fictional character created by Wes Craven had been portrayed by Robert Englund. However in the 2010 remake this serial killer is being player by the Academy Award nominee, Jackie Earle Haley. Now although Kruger can attack his victims in their own dreams when he comes into the real world and has the usual human strength and he is very vulnerable. Most of us identify this murderer by his disfigured face which is burned, along with his dark green and red striped sweater and the brown fedora and who can forget the metal clawed brown leather glove which is like his trademark. I found that this person described this simply on this Tommie Senosk weblog. Wes Craven first got his inspiration of this heartless serial killer after he read a few stories in the Los Angeles Times. Although Wes first thought to make Krueger a child molester, he turned him into a child killer in the end. Now most of his inspirations came from ma bully he knew in high school and also a homeless man who had apparently frightened him when he was eleven. He says that the inspiration for creating Freddy's infamous clawed glove came form his cat. The "A Nightmare on Elm Street" horror franchise consists basically of nine films along with a TV show and also comic books too. In this film the killer basically kills teenager but does so in their dreams. If you want to know about the motives of the killer, it basically was the usual, revenge on parents who had apparently burned him while he was still alive. In the very first film, Freddy kills a group of teenagers but doesn't succeed in killing one, Nancy Thompson. In the end Nancy defeats Freddy by pulling the plug on his dream world and bringing him back to reality where he is vulnerable and Nancy isn't scared of him anymore. In the second movie he comes back to the house where Nancy used to live only to posses a new victim who is helped by his girlfriend to get rid of the spirit. In the third movie there is the return of Nancy Thompson who realizes at all the kids on Elm Street are being killed by Freddy. Nancy helps the kids to fight off Freddy but dies in the end. If you want to know more about this horror Nightmare on elm street series the best thing to do would be to check it out. | | Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 | | 6:39 pm |
Wedding Day Rain There is an old saying that rain on your wedding day is a lucky omen. The Italians even have a saying for it, " Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata", which means that a wet bride is a lucky bride. In the U.S., it is commonly repeated that rain is lucky, although most brides would prefer a dry day and a little less luck! Rain is also considered to be a good wedding omen in Germany, Sweden, and France. This is possibly because rain is associated with a bountiful harvest, and thus, fertility. Some believe that the rainier the wedding day, the more children the marriage will produce. (So if you get married during a downpour, I guess that you can expects to have triplets!) However, not everyone considers rain to be a lucky charm; consider the old adage, "Happy is the bride whom the sun shines on". There are several superstitions that are said to ward off rain on the wedding day. One is to feed your cat on the morning of the wedding (this is a strange one - shouldn't you feed your cat every morning?). Catholics can hang a rosary outdoors on the day of their nuptials to put a stop to rain in time for the ceremony. In parts of Spain, to avoid rain the bride or her mother can deliver a dozen freshly laid eggs to the nuns of the convent of St. Clare. I found that this site described this simply on this Paul Sayres web site. Whether you consider rain to be a lucky sign or not, there is always a chance that it will fall on your wedding day. To make wet weather less of an issue, plan in advance for inclement weather. If you are planning an outdoor wedding, check the Farmer's Almanac for the driest times of year in your hometown. Also be prepared with shelter for guests and the couple, or a backup location if the weather forces you to move the ceremony inside. For weddings in tents, order a floor to avoid having your reception in a mud pit. For an indoor wedding, the rain more of an annoyance than a real problem. If there is rain in the forecast for your big day, arm yourself with plenty of golf umbrellas. The bride also may want to get dressed at the church if the weather is really nasty. The way to handle that is to be completely ready, other than the gown. The bride should have on her special wedding jewelry, her fancy undergarments, and everything but her gown and shoes. Put double plastic covers over the gown to keep it dry, then slip into it once arriving at the church. If changing into your gown at the ceremony site is impractical, at least wait to put on your bridal shoes until arriving on dry land. You don't want to squish your way down the aisle in soggy footwear! If is does end up raining on your wedding day, the best thing to do is grin and bear it. I once attended a wedding ceremony held in a park on a very wet day. It was treacherous going down a steep hill of wet grass in high heels, but the couple had posted ushers with large umbrellas to escort the ladies to the ceremony site (which fortunately did have a tent over it), and some of the male guests also pitched in to help. It rained and rained, to the point where you could barely hear the musicians playing while the guests were being seated (and we were all wondering how we would hear the vows). Then the most amazing thing happened: just as the ceremony began, the rain suddenly stopped and the sky cleared. The bride and groom exchanged their vows under a beautiful beam of sunshine, which seemed like a lucky omen, indeed. Even though her train was soaked, and her hair was frizzy, the bride was radiant with an inner bliss (and at least her wedding jewelry was dry and fabulous!). So if the weatherman predicts inclement weather for your wedding day, just remember the French saying, " Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux", which promises a happy marriage as a result of a wet wedding. And if you don't buy into the idea that rain is lucky, there is always the old standby: Rain, rain, go away - come again another day! | | Monday, May 2nd, 2011 | | 5:02 pm |

Tunisia, Yemen, and Egypt, So Which Country Will Be Next - Venezuela Perhaps? As everyone is watching all the civil unrest in places like Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt, Syria, Algeria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan with demonstrations, protests, marches, and riots in the street forcing governments to fold or acquiesce one perhaps is not considering the full-extent of this growing global challenge which exists. Economic conditions, inflation, unemployment, and high food prices are seriously taking their toll, but what on the other side of the globe? What about in North, Central, and South America? How about in countries like Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Bolivia, and let's not forget the severe crisis brewing in Venezuela, perhaps worst of all, as Hugo Chavez works his way into a constitutional set of amendments allowing him to be a perpetually king through hijacked pretend and manipulated elections, while the nations continues to collapse economically. I found that this site demonstrated this smartly on this Gene Snider weblog. Indeed, recently there was an interesting presentation which actually considered such challenges happening in the world, and where else such civil unrest was likely to occur next. The presentation was by the Hudson Institute in Washington DC. Titled; "Social Unrest and Political Instability in Venezuela" (February 9, 2011) at the Hudson Institute's Center for Latin American Studies and the Institute for Foreign Policy. Consider if you will that the socialist leader Hugo Chavez has destroyed the middle class, all in promises of bringing up the poor masses. Only he's made it worse with two major currency downward adjustments, nationalizing of foreign businesses and assets, and confiscation of land, opposition media, and oil and food production. The efficiency of the Venezuelan economy has been stopped cold, and rather than Chavez adopting the proper economic fixes and re-introducing a more free-market approach, he continues to shore up the challenges by creating new socialist programs. Today, Venezuelans are at a flash point, one which has come a lot faster than the 30-years of less-than-perfect economic times in Egypt. Will the people of Venezuela over throw their leader too? Is Venezuela next on the list of potential calamities? And what might that do to the stability of South America? Will Venezuela tighten down the locks on its people as North Korea, Iran, Cuba, and other nations have done, or will the people rise up and take arms. So far, all minor protests have been culled and the media has literally been taken over. But if you want my assessment, I'd say something like this could happen in Venezuela at any time. Please consider all this. | | Saturday, April 30th, 2011 | | 6:42 pm |
The Real Meaning of Holiday Season The holiday season is the best time of the year because most families and friends are bond one another, exchange gift and celebrate the season together. Usually during this season, the temperature of the surroundings also changes in to cooler. As the holiday festivities begins, the residents also light their fireplaces and other lighting which added magnificent touch to warm up your comfortable nest. The best place to spend your family around the fire pit in your house. This is where the coziest spot in your house because of the warm produce by the fire. Despite of the dropping of temperature, you are still able to go outside and enjoy the night with your families and friends while your outdoor fire pit is providing the enough heat needed by the body. You can do whatever you want; you can grill and cook to your fire pit. As well as chatting, laughing dancing with the people around. I found that this individual showed this well on this Shelba Placeres website. However, not everybody can go out and enjoy the night with their love ones. There are people who can't tolerate the smoke brought by the fireplaces outside, because most of these people are having respiratory problem (those with asthma). Not all that, even healthy people will affected if too much expose to smoke and other particulates. It is more prudent to get a fire pit that does not produce smoke, so that even those people (common in children and elderly) who have respiratory problem can enjoy the night with their love ones together. As a responsible host of the family gathering, you are accountable for your family and your guests' safety. It is more prudent that before starting the event and igniting the pit, to take the safety measure as well as the precautions. Secure the gas line, take away all the dead leaves, and make sure that the flicker screen is installed. If planning to use the pit in grilling makes it sure that the pit use does not produce ember, is possible no smoke, and flickers free. Provide the warning signs so that everybody is aware for the hot parts of the area. In most cases, holiday season is also the most stressful time (physical, emotional as well as financial) of the year. Everybody is rushing and busy preparing things, from foods, wrapping gifts, to house decorating. To save time, it is a great and wise idea to plan your holiday activities earlier, the menu of the recipe to be prepare so that at early as possible you can purchase the ingredients and mixture. Though, it is very simple but the most effective way to be free from stress. Remember the real meaning of this season, is not all about the food you had prepare or what's inside the gifts and the amount that you give, but it's all about the love, respect, care, appreciation as well as the memories. The real meaning of holiday's season will leave a mark to everyone's heart. So, be sure that your holiday season is worth remembering for everybody. | | Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 | | 8:53 pm |
Rich Dad, Poor Dad Book Review Robert Kiyosaki's best selling book Rich Dad, Poor Dad has been read by millions worldwide. If you haven't read this book then your missing out. Robert Kiyosaki had a rich dad and a poor dad, the poor dad had a stable job but didn't manage money well and therefore was poor, the rich dad built an empire and managed his money like a rich person even though at the start he was poor. He teaches about financial intelligence. What's financial intelligence? Financial intelligence is knowing how to make money, how to money can make money. Here's some of the key points in the book: Acquire assets, reduce liabilities One of the main points in the book that made a lot of sense to me is to acquire assets and reduce liabilities. This seems like a simple idea that a lot of people try to do, but Kiyosaki explains that there are millions of people doing it wrong! Your house and car is not a asset, if you have a mortgage it eats away at your money. Assets are things that make you money such as stocks, real estate that you acquire to sell on for a profit, or a business that you own. Cash Flow Robert Kiyosaki designed a simple diagram of the cashflow of a poor person, middle class person, and the rich. The poor and middle class's money comes in and out. The rich circulate their money to make more money. I found that this site showed this nicely on this Augusta Vories post. Wealth Some of the "middle class " consider themselves wealthy due to the fact they they have a nice car, house and are enjoying the luxuries in life. But Robert Kiyosaki thinks differently, he measures true wealth from how long you can survive if you lose your job or retire. Robert Kiyosaki retired in his mid 30's, cause he felt like had enough wealth and could continue his lifestyle with what his assets were giving him, and decided to work only when he needed more money or felt like it, when he said work, that just meant actually doing something to make money, not getting a job and working for someone else. Wealth is measured by the ability to be financially independent without doing much work, he explains how this is possible through his asset/liabilities ideas. This book is not a get rich quick scam, this book is just a guidance on the basics of how to think about money. | | 7:06 pm |

The Top 5 Gifts to Give to Mum or Grandma for Mother's Day Of course the perfect gift for Mum or Grandma will always be your time and company! How lovely if you could do one of those chores she always had to nag you to do when you were young, like walk her dog or mow the lawn! But what if time or geography prohibit that, or, what if you do all that anyway but just fancy making her Mother's Day extra special? 1. Flowers - the traditional gift for Mothering Sunday is, of course, flowers. Originating from the days when children would pick small bunches of wild flowers from the hedgerows to present to their Mum this is a lovely tradition. However flowers seem to work best when they are either a simple, handpicked, bunch of spring flowers or a fabulous, over the top bouquet, anything else in between perhaps isn't quite special enough, and we know, that you know, to avoid cellophane wrapped lego brick coloured flowers from the garage forecourt, (yes, gentlemen, we're talking to you)! 2. Chocolates - very few of us can resist these, even more so now we know that chocolate is choc full of anti-oxidants! So go ahead treat you Mum or Grandma to a selection of her favourites, do make sure though that she's not on a diet, diabetic, given them up for Lent or any one of the million other reasons she might be a bit disappointed with her gift! 3. Jewellery - this certainly makes it into the top 5 gifts for Mother's Day. Most Mums and Grandmas will love a piece of jewellery that has been especially selected for them, choose something that you really like, chances are she'll love it too, and it's lovely to be given something one wouldn't have chosen for oneself only to see it become one of one's favourites. If you are selecting for a older lady eliminate necklaces with fiddly clasps and choose one instead that fastens magnetically or can go straight over her head. Brooches are incredibly popular, especially the vintage inspired ones and do check out the fab, felt, flower corsages that most ladies have fallen in love with! 4. A Pretty Nightgown - probably not something you'd thought of, but, even though Marilyn Monroe went to bed wearing nothing but a dab of Chanel No.5 and a smile most ladies need something a little more demure! Whether Mum is off to visit friends for the weekend, off on a long awaited holiday, or has to spend some time in hospital a new nightie will make her feel special and pampered. Choose one that is easy to wear, easy to care for but still beautiful and she'll know it was a gift you put some thought into. 5. Healing, caring, things - Maybe your Mum or Grandma has begun to mention a few niggles or aches and pains, if so why not think about a gift that heals. Maybe put together a gift basket of health supplements, lovely, relaxing bath products, a lavender sleep pillow etc. Or what about healing magnetic jewellery or a copper bangle, both things have a reputation for easing back and joint pain and stress. Mum or Grandma will love the fact you're taking care of her. We know that ladies of any age love gifts that are stylish, contemporary and glamorous, just ensure that all the features of the products are designed with Mums and Grandmas in mind. I found that this web page demonstrated this intelligently on this Robin Iwanowski article. Enjoy choosing your gift, and to all the Mums, Grandmothers, Godmothers, Aunts and all ladies out there "Happy Mother's Day!". |
